I like this kind of game and the concept that comes with it.
I had a difficult time to actually move the mouse without too much going out of the screens, taking me valuable seconds that lead me to loose.
It is nearly impossible for me to win this game as the game goes further in time, it starts lagging, therefore I can't click fast enough on the icons.
it was a frustrating game for me ^^'
I wish I could have finished the first level at least because I wanted to see more but I guess the zombies just pop out of nowhere before trashing my castle.
The meteorits seems that their effect is a little weak too.
Anyway, still a good job on making this entry.

Thanks for the comment !
I wasn't aware of the lag.

It is a really cool game.
I finished it and I liked how you implemented the mechanics all along the new levels.
There was some issue however that hampered the gameplay and found it frustrating.
I think you arealdy know it, but it's the grace period at the edge of any platform before jumping.
The hitbox of your character is very small, you don't know if it's on the first leg or second leg where you can jump. But I often had to jump while my whole body was on the platform because if I had 1 or 2 pixel at the edge, my character will fall.
This is very frustrating unfortunately and several times I wanted to stop playing. But the game itself made me go to the end :)
Despite this little issue, I enjoyed the artistic side of it, the gameplay mechanics with balloons (it's pretty fun), and the challenge.
Well done.

platformalist responds:

HI Krappy-Krapo!

Yeah, the character's hit detection can be a little tough to predict. It's based on the character's directional movement - the hit areas being detected are different depending on the direction of your movement - with more tweaking and a lot more computing per frame, I could get a tighter hitbox in the future. Anyway, I'm really glad that you still enjoyed your time with the game, and I appreciate the detailed feedback! :)

It is a great game. Lovely mechanic.
However I couldn't beat level 0 due to a horrible bug that freeze the game :(
Really sad that it hampers the game....

When you keep a 1-up at your mouse, and when you die. The 1-up is used and you restart the level and it freezes.
How can I see the level -1 ? Couldn't figure it out until this bug just made me stop playing ^^'

Hi there, thanks for letting me know. I will fix on monday. (edit: should be fixed now)

Amazing story-telling little game. The sound is also amazingly well transcribed. You really feel the atmosphere and the mood of it. Very well done :)

Vonka responds:

Thank you, glad you appreciated :)

I had a lot of fun playing it actually.
There was some glitches on level 101 and level 09 at my knowledge that you can go through a platform, which was annoying when you try to finish the game and really undermine the gameplay.
Also some lag was seen on the first level with spikes which was unexpected.

The story, the sounds, the quality were great, you really made a lovely game. Well done.

I'm glad you liked it. I just released a new version of it with all those bugs resolved. :D :D :D

I know it is a demo, and I wish your game succeed.
I finished it but found it kind of frustrating at times. Maybe you try to immerse your player in the atmosphere, which is good. I liked the classical music piece, the sounds, some creepy details.
I'm sure this would be a good little game.
I can't really judge by the demo because walking around until finishing on a screamer doesn't really show off.
But still, some little things makes it promising.

keep up the good work

Hey,
Thank you for your feedback. True, it's just a simple demo where I wanted people to know what they can really expect. I also wanted to know what people around the world have to say after playing the game, is it about the atmosphere, the music, mechanics etc

I am gathering feedback from awesome players just like you. If you would like to follow devlogs, please register your email at www.ellen-game.com

Thanks a lot!

Great demo I must say ! Feel like the original with a comic twist :P

BlueStarGeneral responds:

I started this game as a mod for doom, well before golden eye. Back when I
wasn't an old git.

The story looks polished and beautiful ! Well done at you :)

CrounchyBrothers responds:

Thanks for the compliment :)

I finished your game. Althought the story kept me in, several time I thought quiting over the long distances of walk between your scripts. That is a pity. But I liked the storyline, it's good for a Halloween :)

TheMillz responds:

All that matters is the story, I could care less about the technical aspect. I'm no Naughty Dog, or Microsoft

Beautiful relaxing game. Unfortunately couldn't pass bratwters as...english is not my first language ^^'
